Chocolate Steamed Pudding

A classic hot pudding, and a new cooking technique to learn
Ingredients
- 125 g flour
- 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
- ½ cup sultanas
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 tablespoon cocoa
- milk to mix
Sauce
- 1 cup water
- 2 teaspoons golden syrup
- 50 g butter
- 60 g sugar
Method
Mix dry ingredients together. Add sultanas, and mix into a stiff dough with some milk
Place into a greased basin
Heat together sauce ingredients, and pour over dough, This makes sauce at the bottom of the pudding
Place basin in a pot with enough water in it to come part way up the side, the basin should be just off floating
Steam for one hour in a pot with the lid on firmly
Do not cover the pudding basin
Serve with icecream or custard
