Curried Mince

Curried Mince

A classic camp dish, make it as spicy as your patrol likes

Ingredients

  • 1 Kg mince
  • 3 onions
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1.5 l water
  • 2 teaspoons beef stock powder
  • 2 teaspoons curry powder
  • 5 tablespoons flour
  • 500 g mixed, chopped vegetables
  • cooked rice to serve

Method

Brown mince, onions, and curry powder in butter in a frying pan

Transfer to a large pot. Mix stock powder with a little water, add rest of water and mixed vegetables to pot

Bring to the boil and simmer for approximately one hour

Mix flour with a little water into a creamy paste and slowly add to the curry

Cook on a low heat until flour is cooked into the curry, and sauce is creamy and thick

Serve on cooked rice
