Stewed Fruit

Hot or preserved fruit for winter desserts

Ingredients

  • 2 kg fresh fruit
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 250 ml water

Method

Peel if required, core and slice fruit

Place in a pot and add water

Cover the pot and bring to the boil. Then simmer gently for 30 minutes or until fruit is soft

Check occasionally and add a little more water if required. Add sugar 5 minutes before end of cooking
